After FTQ President Magali Picard’s controversial express return trip to COP28, in the middle of the strike, The newspaper noted that delegations from the Quebec Workers’ Fund and the Union of Quebec Municipalities (UMQ) will also travel to COP28 in Dubai.
A total of three Fondaction executives will travel to COP28 in economy class. CEO Geneviève Morin and two of her vice presidents will opt for stays of seven to eight days. The CSN will also have a union counselor on site from November 30th to December 8th for a bill of $5,700.
At the FTQ Solidarity Fund, two executives will be on site for nine days. Despite our inquiries, Le Journal was unable to know on Wednesday how much the bill was or whether they were traveling in economy class or not.

UMQ more transparent
At the Quebec Municipal Association (UMQ), two managers and one employee will fly economy class to COP28 from December 2nd to 6th.
These are the president of the UMQ, Martin Damphousse, and his vice-president, Guillaume Tremblay, also chairman of the Committee on Climate Change.
When asked about the average cost per person, the UMQ said the total cost of the trip was $6,000 per person.
