A new potential breach has been exploited
This new vulnerability, identified under the reference CVE-2023-7024, was brought to light by Clément Lecigne and Vlad Stolyarov, two security researchers at the Google Threat Analysis Group. This potentially exploited breach is a buffer overflow that affects WebRTC, an open source module of Chrome, but also most competing web browsers such as Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Brave or even Opera. This new version of Chrome, stamped 120.0.6099.129 on macOS and Linux and 120.0.6099.129/130 on Windows, is rolling out and should be automatically available to all users in the coming days. So if you see a button asking you to restart the browser, don’t wait.
