As expected, Resident Evil 4 is now available on the App Store. The game is fully compatible with the iPhone 15 Pro, but also iPads and Macs with at least an M1 chip. Be careful though, the price is high.

After the arrival of Resident Evil Village on the App Store, the optimization of a growing number of titles for Apple Silicon chips (including recently The Witcher 1 and 2) and while other AAAs are due to appear on iPhone, iPad and Mac in 2024 (we think particularly Assassin’s Creed Mirage), Apple continues to focus on gaming.
As promised, Resident Evil 4 will be released in the App Store on December 20th. Originally released in 2005, Capcom’s survival horror was completely re-released this year, particularly for next-gen consoles. This makes it fully playable on the iPhone 15 Pro (as well as the latest iPads and Macs). A small technical feat made possible thanks to the A17 Pro chip, its native support for ray tracing and, above all, its improved graphics capabilities.
Paying 60 euros… almost as much as on PS5
There is a temporary promotion for Resident Evil 4 when it launches in the App Store. If you decide to purchase it before January 17th, you can purchase it for 30 euros instead of the 60 euros normally charged. However, note that the DLCs are sold separately. For example, you have to pay 15 euros more for the Separate Ways extension.
This iPhone version of Resident Evil 4 ultimately costs almost as much as the PS5 version and is marketed for 70 euros without promotions.
Luckily, purchasing RE4 from the App Store unlocks the game on both iPhone and iPads and Macs connected to the same Apple account. However, it should be noted that this purchase does not take family sharing into account. In other words, every member of the same family must purchase a copy of the title in order to play it.
Regardless, Resident Evil 4 works on iPhones with an A17 Pro chip and iOS 17.0 (or newer); on Macs equipped with at least an M1 chip and macOS 13; and on iPads also with at least an M1 chip and iPadOS 17.0 (or newer).
