TerransForce Handle 5: Introducing a powerful new game console with AMD Ryzen 7 7840U APU, 50 Wh battery and 120 Hz display – notebookcheck.biz

Another relatively little-known company outside of China is looking to grab a slice of the thriving gaming market, with ASUS and Lenovo benefiting from the success of the Steam Deck just this year. This time, TerransForce launched the Handle 5, which it released in two variants, both equipped with AMD’s AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor.

As such, the TerransForce Handle 5 should mirror the performance of many other popular gaming handhelds, including the ASUS ROG Ally and the Lenovo Legion Go. For reference, the Ryzen 7 7840U handheld features eight Zen 4 CPU cores and an RDNA 3-based Radeon 780M iGPU. In our testing, the Ryzen 7 7840U proved powerful enough to play modern Triple-A titles at 1080p, albeit at low/medium graphics settings.

Additionally, the Handle 5 features LPDDR5 RAM, a PCIe 4.0 SSD, a 50Wh battery, and a 7-inch IPS screen with 1080p resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio. The latter also offers peak brightness of 450 nits and 100% sRGB color gamut coverage, as well as a 120Hz refresh rate, according to TerransForce. Although the TerransForce Handle 5 isn’t available yet, Minixpc has hinted that it plans to sell the gaming handheld in the future, perhaps for as little as $650.
