Netflix is taking a big step to strengthen its games catalog: the streaming service is adding none other than the Grand Theft Auto trilogy, which will be available for free to subscribers!
Classic television is not necessarily Netflix’s biggest competitor. The platform has long recognized the threat that video games pose to its activities. That’s why the service has been offering access to a catalog of mobile games for iOS and Android for two years. But the ambitions of the Los Gatos company do not end there.

Netflix has bought studios and created others to enrich its selection of games with original titles. Don’t forget to sign with publishers to include their creations in the catalog. And at the end of the year, the group gets a boost with the release of the definitive edition of the GTA trilogywhich Netflix subscribers can (re)discover on mobile platforms from December 14th at no additional cost.
Starting tomorrow, they can register in the Netflix app while waiting for the three titles Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. They then need to download the desired game(s) from the App Store or Play Store.

This definitive edition has been available on PC and consoles since November 2021, where it also received a very cool reception due to bugs and strawberry optimizations. Hopefully the mobile version will be of a different level and of course adapted to touch controls. And to play it, you need a Netflix subscription. It is unknown whether the Rockstar studio will offer paid versions for other users.
Netflix subscribers can already play more than 80 games, including major customers such as Hades, Football Manager 2024 Mobile, Dead Cells and Twelve Minutes. This marketing coup comes at the right time to raise the stakes before the release in early December of the first trailer for GTA 6, the next work in the saga that is expected like the Messiah.
