Like many online services, Gmail is also preparing to clean up its accounts. As Google announced in May, many users are expected to lose access to their Google mailbox in December for security reasons. In fact, the American giant emphasized in the spring that inactive accounts are more likely to be hacked. The open door to sending malware and other fraudulent uses is a special reminder to Internet users this November 22nd. A good reason for Google to wipe them off the map, as X (formerly Twitter) has already done within its ranks.
But who will really be affected by this measure? Internet users can be assured that only accounts that have been inactive for two years or more will be deleted. On the other hand, all data for those affected disappears, including stored documents and images. However, in this case, Google has sent you an information notice with instructions on how to request restoration of your data.
