Even before the introduction of its new Galaxy S24 series, Samsung is ending the year brilliantly with the renewal of its entry-level segment. At the same time as its new Galaxy A25, the Korean manufacturer presented its new affordable smartphone this week, the Galaxy A05s.
We are dealing here with a smartphone that adopts the design elements of the Galaxy A25, with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ screen (2400 x 1080 pixels) and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. In the upper part of the display Samsung has Once again, a selfie camera was located in a waterdrop notch and not in a hole. Still, you’ll have to deal with an LCD screen and not an Amoled panel like its mid-range cousin.
For photography, the Samsung Galaxy A05s has a module with three sensors on the back. The main camera has a wide-angle lens (f/1.8) coupled with a 50-megapixel sensor. We also find two 2-megapixel sensors, for macro (f/2.4) and portrait mode (f/2.4). For selfies, it’s a 13-megapixel sensor that Samsung has placed at the top of the screen, behind which is a lens opening at f/2.0. The smartphone can also record video sequences in Full HD 60p or HD 120p.
Expandable storage but limited connectivity
The Samsung Galaxy A05s also comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD port. However, Samsung does not communicate about the processor integrated in its smartphone and only states that it is a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. The fingerprint reader is positioned on the edge at the level of the sleep button. On the battery side, expect a 5000mAh device, while wireless connectivity is limited to 4G, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1.

However, this shouldn’t stop Samsung from selling its Galaxy A05s like hotcakes. Keep in mind that the Korean manufacturer generates most of its sales in the entry-level and mid-range segment. In 2022, for example, the Galaxy A13 was Samsung’s best-selling phone worldwide, ahead of the Galaxy A03 and well ahead of the premium Galaxy S or Galaxy Z series.
This is explained in particular by the brand image of the Korean manufacturer, but also by the significantly more attractive prices of these smartphones. The Galaxy A05s is launched by Samsung at a price of 169 euros in France.
