The Remparts de Québec began their trip to Baie-Comeau with a 6-1 loss to the Drakkar on Friday night.
In this first of two games in as many nights at the Henry-Leonard Center, the crowd favorites opened the machine in the third period. Julien Paillé ensured a 1-1 draw right at the start of the final third. It was the 11th of the season for the Sherbrooke native.
A few moments later, Raoul Boilard took advantage of Nathan Plamondon-Michaud’s presence in the cell to give Drakkar precedence with two goals. With this success, Félix Gagnon collected the second of his three assists. He was also involved in Julien Lanthier and Isaac Dufort’s goals in the first and third periods, respectively.
Boilard and Louis Charles Plourde made matters worse in the final moments of the clash.
The Remparts’ only success was the work of Zachary Marquis-Laflamme. He caused a stir in the second third.
In front of the cages, Philippe Bourdages stopped 24 pucks in the win, while Louis-Antoine Denault made 30 saves in the loss.
The Red Devils and Drakkar meet again late Saturday afternoon.
