With the rising prices of components and especially graphics cards, many gamers are turning to cloud gaming. As a reminder, With this solution you can play games in streaming. Provided, of course, that you have a good connection.

While some market players, like Google with Stadia, have struggled to embrace cloud gaming, others are succeeding. This is especially true for NVIDIA, which recently updated its GeForce Now offering and now comes with RTX 4080.

Today, A new competitor enters the arena, at least in France. It is Luna, the cloud gaming service developed by Amazon.

Amazon Luna: a Stadia until?

Available in the US for several months, Luna offers access to a large catalog of titles, from different publishers, without even installing them. However, to benefit from this, it is possible to purchase the games individually Amazon also offers multiple subscriptions :

  • Luna + : With a price of 9.99 euros per month, the Luna+ offer provides free access to more than a hundred games. There are several older AAAs available like Batman: Arkham Knight, but the platform also offers many independent games.
  • Ubisoft+ : For fans of Ubisoft games, Amazon has partnered with the French publisher. By paying a subscription of 17.99 euros per month, it is possible to play all of the studio’s current games, including Assassin’s Creed Mirage and The Crew Motorfest.

To get the most out of the service, AMazon also sells a Luna controllerwhich can connect directly to WiFi to reduce latency in the game. Originally sold for 69.99 euros, The latter is on offer for 39.99 euros, until November 27th. Additionally, Amazon Prime subscribers can play a selection of games for free, including Fortnite and Trackmania.

At first glance, Amazon doesn’t seem to have learned from Stadia’s dismal failure. The American company uses the same formula as its competitor in almost all respects. We just hope Luna has a better fate than its predecessor. As a reminder, when Stadia closed, many lost access to the games they purchased
