LG has introduced two new MyView smart monitors in the Republic of Korea. The latest products carry model numbers 32SR70U and 32SR83U and are designed for different lifestyles, as a TV for watching content or displaying workout videos or as a monitor in your home office.
LG MyView IPS monitors feature a 32-inch 4K resolution screen that covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space. It’s worth noting that the screen is limited to a 60Hz refresh rate and the devices don’t have features like AMD FreeSync, so they’re not suitable for gaming. The new products feature a customized version of webOS 23 that allows you to access the Internet and stream content from popular apps like Disney+ or YouTube without having to connect a device like a PC. If you want to use the devices as a monitor, you can connect your laptop via a USB-C port that supports PD fast charging, although this is limited to 45W on the 32SR70U. Other features include support for Apple AirPlay 2 and Miracast wireless screen sharing, Bluetooth connectivity for headsets, and LG ThinQ app-based controls.
Compared to the cheaper 32SR70U, the 32SR83U has a thinner frame and a stand that allows you to adjust the screen position. The LG MyView 32SR70U and 32SR83U smart monitors will be launched in the Republic of Korea on December 27th, priced at 699,000 won (~$537) and 749,000 won (~$576), respectively. It remains to be seen whether and when they will also find their way into other markets.
