The first look at the next installment in the hit Grand Theft Auto video game series surpassed 100 million views on YouTube in just 30 hours, making it the most viewed non-music video in 24 hours on the platform.
However, the video did not surpass the ultimate YouTube record for the number of views in 24 hours, which is still held by the South Korean pop group BTS, which managed to collect more than 108 million views for the Butter video clip.
The trailer was also released online on Monday by its publisher Rockstar Games and looks at the second best video game in history.
The studio had planned to release it on Tuesday, but decided to put it online early due to a leak.

Such was the excitement that the trailer received more than 60 million views on YouTube within 12 hours, breaking a record set by American YouTuber MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson.
