Will this wearable chip trick you into communicating with AI? – The Journal de Montreal

It is the first wearable device and software platform designed to harness the full power of artificial intelligence (AI). Ai Pin represents a new path in personal technology for consumers, giving users the ability to take AI with them anywhere in an entirely new, screenless, conversational format.

The Ai Pin will be available to order in the US starting November 16th, starting at $699 for the complete system (CA$970).

Voice interface

The Ai Pin redefines the way we interact with AI. Speak to him naturally, use the intuitive touchpad, hold objects in the air, use gestures or interact with the laser projected on the palm of your hand. The unique, screenless interface is designed to blend in seamlessly while putting the power of AI seamlessly at your fingertips.

Pocket AI that can listen

The Ai Pin fits effortlessly into your everyday life and improves your interactions with the world around you.

Designed to handle simple and complex tasks, the microphone quickly searches, finds, and contextualizes what you’re looking for. AI-powered messaging can write messages in the tone of your voice, while Catch Me Up cuts through the noise in your inbox.

The device only wakes up when the user is active and does not use “wake words” to ensure they are not constantly listening or recording. The Ai Pin features a security light that indicates whether sensors are active and is managed by a privacy chip.

In addition to a growing list of features, Ai Pin can also act as a foreign language interpreter and support your nutritional goals by identifying foods using computer vision.

Cosmos: the all-new operating system for the mobile AI age

The system, called Cosmos, manages itself. This eliminates the need to download, manage or launch applications, for example. Instead, it quickly understands what you need and connects you to the right AI service immediately.

Human AI

Removable battery and Snapdragon AI power

On the mini-computer, which has a small battery, a second replaceable battery is provided to increase the autonomy of the whole. Three colors to choose from: Eclipse, Equinox and Lunar.

Despite its compact size, the Ai Pin is a concentrate of new technologies. It is powered by a Snapdragon®TM processor with a dedicated Qualcomm® AI Engine, enabling the fast and reliable performance required for AI interactions. The Ai Pin is equipped with a camera, depth sensor and motion sensors so the device can see the world the way you see it. A unique, bespoke speaker creates a bubble of sound, providing privacy and volume as needed, while Ai Pin can also be paired with headphones via Bluetooth.

With Microsoft and OpenAI

Humane’s unique collaboration with Microsoft and OpenAI gives the Ai Pin system access to some of the world’s most powerful AI models and platforms. To provide Ai Pin with cellular service, Humane is launching its own virtual cellular network operator (like Fido or Fizz), connected through its exclusive US partner T-Mobile.

Subscription plan

The smart device includes two replaceable batteries, a charging pad, a charging case, a cable and an adapter. For $24 per month, the Humane subscription includes a dedicated cell phone number and unlimited talk, text, and data. This subscription also includes cloud storage and full access to Humane’s growing range of AI-driven services, with no limits on the number of questions you can ask.

From two Apple founders

The two founders of Humane AI are very well known. Imran Chaudhri is a designer, inventor and innovator. He spent more than 20 years at Apple inventing and developing some of the world’s most popular consumer products, including the Macintosh, iPod, iPad, Apple Watch and iPhone.

For her part, Bethany Bongiorno led the teams behind some of Apple’s most revolutionary products. As Director of Software Engineering, she was responsible for leading all software projects for iOS and macOS and also played a key role in executing critical projects such as the launch of the original iPad.
