Apple is expected to significantly change its product strategy. Bloomberg and more specifically Mark Gurman are interested in Apple’s upcoming launches.
OLED everywhere
Despite the comparable performance of Mini LED used in the current MacBook Pro and the larger iPad Pro, Apple would consider switching to OLED, a more cost-effective technology than Mini LED. This decision could be a response to the need to address the decline in sales of tablets and laptops. This is not surprising as many of Apple’s competitors have made a massive switch to OLED, including Apple, Lenovo and Asus.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is preparing to renew its range for spring 2024 Updates for the iPad Air and iPad Pro (still in 11 and 13 inches)as well as’a new MacBook Air which would logically switch to the M3 chip (like the iMac M3 or the MacBook Pro M3). The integration of the M3 SoC would also be planned for these new iPad Pros.
The year 2024 could also be a good year for the iPad Air. Two screen sizes would be planned: a standard 10.9-inch model and a new, larger 12.9-inch version that corresponds to the size of the large iPad Pro.
In addition to tablets, new versions of the Apple Pen and Apple Magic Keyboard are also reportedly in the works, with improved designs.
Obviously, these changes could likely result in a price increase. But that’s no surprise.
